An English-speaking, bilingual wedding photographer based in Cabo San Lucas. Ana Badillo plans directly with US and Canadian couples from the first email, and coordinates with every local vendor in Spanish on the day. Last updated: September 2026.
Most couples who marry in Cabo San Lucas are flying in from the United States or Canada, planning a wedding in a country where the vendors speak Spanish. That's exactly why so many of them look for an English-speaking wedding photographer: someone they can plan with directly, in their own language, from the very first email.
I'm Ana Badillo, a wedding photographer based in Cabo San Lucas. I'm fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and most of my couples are from the US and Canada. Here's what working with a bilingual local photographer actually means for your day.
| Photographer | Ana Badillo, based in Cabo San Lucas |
| Languages | Fluent English and Spanish |
| Clients | Mostly couples from the United States and Canada |
| Planning | You plan directly with her, in your language, from the first email |
| On the wedding day | She coordinates with every vendor in Spanish, with no interpreter in the middle |
Why it matters more than you'd think
A destination wedding is a web of people: your planner, the venue coordinator, the florist, the DJ, your family. When your photographer speaks your language, your timeline, your must-have shots, and the small requests that matter are understood the first time.
And because I also speak Spanish, I can talk directly to every vendor on the ground. On the wedding day, when something needs to move quickly, there is no interpreter in the middle. I coordinate in both languages, so your day runs the way you planned it.
Local, not flown-in
There's a second advantage to hiring a bilingual photographer who actually lives here, rather than flying someone in. I know the light at each beach and venue, I've photographed at the resorts along the corridor, and I can scout your location ahead of time. I'm also here all year, so if you want an engagement session during a planning trip, we can make it happen.
You get the English-speaking experience you want, and the local knowledge you can't get from someone who has to Google where to park.
Working with US and Canadian couples
Planning from abroad comes with its own rhythm: emails across time zones, a video call instead of a coffee, decisions made from a distance. I'm used to it. We can handle the entire process in English, and I'll flag the local details you'd have no way of knowing, like how the light behaves at your venue or how the season affects your date.
How to start planning
Send me your date and venue and I'll reply with availability and a proposal, all in English. If you're coming from Canada, I also wrote a guide to getting married in Cabo from Canada.
