Costs and budget

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Cabo San Lucas?

An established local photographer usually runs $3,500 to $8,500 for full-day coverage, and couples who fly someone in from the States often pay $6,500 to $11,500 or more. The full breakdown, and what drives it, is in our Cabo wedding photography cost guide.

How much does a wedding in Cabo cost in total?

Photography is one line of a much larger budget. Intimate weddings start around $30,000, a typical beachfront resort wedding with 60 to 80 guests lands between $65,000 and $120,000, and luxury multi-day celebrations can pass $200,000. The range has more to do with guest count, venue, and season than with any single vendor.

Is it cheaper to hire a local photographer or fly one in?

Usually local, and for more than the price. A photographer who lives here knows the light at your venue, has shot there before, and doesn't add flights, hotels, and travel days to the bill. Couples fly someone in when they love a specific style enough to cover it, which is a fair reason too.

Why is the price range for Cabo photographers so wide?

Coverage hours, team size, experience, and demand in peak season all move the price. A short session for a small elopement and a full day with two shooters are different jobs, so the quotes look different too.

Venues and resorts

What are the best wedding venues in Cabo San Lucas?

The Pueblo Bonito resorts are among the most beautiful in Los Cabos, and they're where we shoot most often. Cabo Azul, Flora Farms, Acre, Casa Dorada, and The Cape each handle a different kind of day, and the Tourist Corridor and San José del Cabo add beachfront and desert settings. Our honest guide to Cabo wedding venues covers the ones we'd book.

Are there all-inclusive wedding resorts in Cabo?

Yes. Several Los Cabos resorts offer packages that bundle the venue, catering, and coordination, which many couples pick for the simplicity. Compare what's included before you decide, because the packages vary a lot.

Can we get married somewhere other than a resort?

Yes. Farm-to-table venues, private villas, and beach clubs host weddings of every size, and plenty of couples prefer a non-resort setting for a more personal feel.

Which Cabo venues photograph best?

The ones where the light works with your day. Ocean terraces at golden hour, farm-and-desert venues with warm texture, and quiet beaches at sunrise are all easy to love. Timing matters more than the venue.

Should we visit venues before booking?

If you can, a scouting trip removes doubt and it's fun. If you can't, a local photographer and planner can show you how each space looks at the hours your photos will happen.

Can you legally get married in Cabo San Lucas?

Yes, legal marriages are possible in Mexico, but they come with paperwork and timing. Most couples we photograph handle the legal part at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Cabo, which skips the bureaucracy and keeps the day on the two of you.

What are the requirements for a legal wedding in Cabo?

A legal wedding in Mexico involves documents and a waiting period, and the rules change, so we send couples to a local coordinator instead of quoting details we don't control. Start with what a legal wedding in Cabo actually requires.

What is an apostille, and do we need one?

An apostille certifies your documents for use abroad, and it can be part of a legal marriage in Mexico. Because it depends on your home country and the documents involved, a local coordinator is the right person to confirm exactly what you need.

Should we marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Cabo?

It's what most couples choose, and it's simpler. You handle the legal paperwork where it's easy, and the ceremony here carries the emotion without the red tape.

Do we need a wedding planner or coordinator in Cabo?

Not for the smallest elopements, where many couples plan directly. For a full wedding with vendors, setup, and a legal ceremony, a good local coordinator makes the day run without you feeling it.

Timing and weather

What is the best time of year to get married in Cabo?

October through May is the sweet spot: dry, mild, and clear. December through April brings whales offshore, and a few unforgettable frames with them. Summer is genuinely hot and sits inside hurricane season, and we won't pretend otherwise. The month-by-month detail is in our best time to get married in Cabo guide.

Is hurricane season a real risk for a Cabo wedding?

Hurricane season runs roughly from late spring into fall, and Cabo does see storms in those months. If you marry then, build in flexibility and travel insurance. In the dry season the risk is far lower.

When can we see whales in Cabo?

Roughly December through April, when gray and humpback whales pass close to the coast. A few frames with a whale offshore are a real Cabo signature, and we plan timelines that can catch them.

What is the best time of day for photos in Cabo?

Golden hour, the hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset, when the light turns soft and warm. Midday sun here is harsh on skin, so we build timelines that put portraits at the edges of the day. The reasoning is in our golden hour timeline guide.

How hot is a summer wedding in Cabo?

Genuinely hot, with high humidity. It's doable with a late ceremony, shade, and a shorter portrait window, but it's a real factor, not a detail to wave away.

The photography

How much coverage do we need for a Cabo wedding?

It depends on your day. A small elopement may need only a golden-hour session, while a full wedding often wants getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, and the reception. We shape coverage around what you want documented.

How many images will we receive, and when?

You receive a gallery of edited high-resolution images, plus a sneak peek soon after your day so you can start sharing. The full gallery follows once editing is complete.

Do you travel outside Cabo for weddings?

Yes. We photograph weddings across Baja California Sur, from San José del Cabo and Todos Santos to La Paz, and internationally for couples who want us wherever they say "I do."

Do you speak English and Spanish?

Both, fluently. We coordinate with you and every vendor in whichever language gets the job done, so nothing about your day gets lost in translation.

What is your photography style?

Editorial and colorful, with real moments instead of stiff poses. The goal is images that look like the day felt, and that still feel like you years later.

Elopements, proposals, and couples

Do you photograph elopements and small weddings?

Yes, and some of our favorite days are the smallest ones. See elopement photography in Cabo for how a tiny timeline comes together.

Where are the best places for a proposal in Cabo?

El Arco and Land's End by water, the Pacific cliffs near Pedregal, a quiet stretch of Médano Beach, or a yacht at sunset. The best spot is the one that fits the two of you and the light. We plan surprise proposals around exactly that.

Where should we take engagement photos in Cabo?

El Arco for the icon, the cliffs for drama, Médano Beach for warmth, and the desert at golden hour for something no one expects. See the full list of engagement photo locations in Cabo.

Planning and choosing a photographer

How do we plan a destination wedding in Cabo?

Start earlier than feels necessary, because the good venues and photographers book first. Settle legal versus symbolic early, decide whether you're using local vendors or bringing your own, and build the day around your guests. Our destination wedding guide walks through it.

How do we choose a wedding photographer in Cabo?

Look at full galleries, not just the highlights, and check that the style holds up across a whole wedding day. Ask about coverage, deliverables, and how they plan around the light and weather here. Local knowledge of the coast shows in the photos.

How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Cabo?

For peak season, nine to twelve months is comfortable, and the most popular dates go earlier. Off-season gives you more room, so write us as soon as you have a date.

What should we ask a Cabo photographer before booking?

Ask to see a full gallery, how many hours of coverage are included, when the images are delivered, whether they've shot your venue, and how they plan around the midday sun and the season. For a closer look, see how many hours of coverage you need for a Cabo wedding.

Is a Cabo wedding worth it?

If you want the sea, the light, and a destination your guests remember, yes. It asks more planning than a wedding close to home, and it gives back a day no one forgets.
