How a secret proposal shoot actually works
This is the part that makes people nervous, and it's genuinely the easy part. Before the day, we agree on the exact location and time and a simple signal — a hat you take off, a spot you walk to — so I know the moment is coming. On the day I arrive early and set up discreetly, dressed like any other beachgoer, and photograph from a natural distance with a long lens. Your partner sees a photographer taking pictures of the scenery, nothing more. The second you ask, I'm already shooting. Then I walk over, introduce myself, and we celebrate.
