Family trips to Cabo move fast: pool in the morning, beach after lunch, someone always hungry. A photo session should fit into that rhythm, not fight it. At Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos there is enough variety on the property, from the beach to the pools to the long staircases, that we can make a relaxed session feel like part of the vacation.
Where we shoot at Hyatt Ziva
The resort sits on a swimmable stretch of beach, which is rare on the Pacific side, and the palms and pools give us shade and texture for the midday hours. I usually start with a few posed group photos on the beach or a staircase, then let the kids lead. Running, splashing and jumping produce the frames families actually frame on the wall.
The best time of day
The last hour before sunset is still the winner: soft warm light, comfortable temperature, and a sky that does half the work. If your family is up early, a sunrise session on the beach is the quiet alternative, with almost nobody else on the sand. Midday works too, but we lean on the palms and terraces for shade and keep those frames tighter.
Keeping kids happy
We play more than we pose. I ask the kids to run, jump, and show me their best move, and I photograph what happens next. Sessions are short, with breaks for water and snacks, so nobody is done before the light gets good. Parents get their turn for portraits too, usually at the end when the little ones are busy.
"Let the kids be kids, and the photos take care of themselves."
Booking a family session in Los Cabos
I photograph family sessions at Hyatt Ziva and across Los Cabos, and I keep them easy so the whole trip stays a vacation. See how a family session works on my Cabo family photographer page, and if you are also planning couple photos, my Cabo couples sessions are here. For trip planning, the official Los Cabos tourism board is handy.
