A wedding at Casa Dorada Los Cabos is about the beach and the town. The resort sits on Medano Beach in downtown Cabo San Lucas, with the Arch and the Cabo lights behind your photos. Here is how I plan a Casa Dorada wedding. Last updated: September 2026.
Couples who marry at Casa Dorada Los Cabos usually want the same two things: the beach and the town. This resort sits on Medano Beach in downtown Cabo San Lucas, so your guests can walk to the marina and the restaurants, and you can have the arch and the Cabo lights in the background of your photos.
I have photographed weddings here for years as a Cabo destination wedding photographer. This is how I plan a Casa Dorada wedding so the ceremony, the portraits, and the timeline all land in the right light.
| Venue | Casa Dorada Los Cabos |
| Location | Medano Beach, downtown Cabo San Lucas |
| Ceremony spaces | The beachfront terrace, or the sand |
| Portraits | The resort's arches and gardens, a few steps away |
| Reception | The terrace, or an indoor space after sunset |
| Why couples pick it | The beach and the town: guests can walk to the marina and the restaurants |
The spaces, and how I use them
Ceremonies here happen on the beachfront terrace or on the sand, and both give a clean frame with the water behind the couple. The resort's arches and gardens are a few steps away for the formal photos, and the terrace or an indoor space takes over for the reception once the sun goes down.
Because everything is central, we do not lose time to travel. Guests stay close, the getting-ready rooms are right upstairs, and we can move from the ceremony to the portraits to the party without a single van ride.
The light, and an honest warning
I schedule the ceremony for about ninety minutes before sunset. The beach faces the water, so the light softens as the day ends, and the couple portraits fall straight into golden hour. In the summer, everything shifts later to avoid the heat and the hard shadows.
The one thing to plan around is Medano Beach itself. It is a busy, lively beach, and there is always something happening behind you. I scout the spot in the morning and pick an angle that keeps the background clean, and I keep the couple above the wet sand line. If you want total privacy, we shoot the portraits on the terrace or in the gardens instead, and you would never know the difference in the photos.
The portraits
We start with the formal group photos near the ceremony, then move through the resort for the couple portraits as the light warms. The palms, the corridors, and the arches give us variety within a few minutes, and if you want the water in the frame we step back onto the sand. For large weddings, I bring a second photographer so the getting-ready coverage and the ceremony happen at the same time.
